Hot honey · Original heat

Original Menace

Sweet first. Trouble after.

It starts like honey should: smooth and golden. Then the chili shows up with a warm heat that builds instead of burning your face off. A splash of vinegar keeps it bright, so it cuts through crispy, cheesy, salty food.

How to cause trouble

Three Ways to Misbehave.

No recipe required. These three moves cover pizza night, wing night and anything coming off the smoker.

  1. Drizzle.

Right before serving. Pizza, fried chicken, biscuits, a cheese board. Zigzag it. Nobody's grading.

Pro move: Finish with a pinch of flaky salt.

  2. Toss.

Into a big bowl with something hot and crispy: wings, tenders, roasted veggies. Toss until everything's shiny.

Pro move: Melt in a pat of butter for wing-shop gloss.

  3. Glaze.

Brush on during the last few minutes on the grill or smoker so it sets instead of burns. Burnt ends, ribs, pork chops.

Pro move: Two thin coats beat one thick one.

Meet the Menace

Looks Innocent. Isn't.

A tiny troublemaker with a serious sweet tooth and zero respect for plain food.

He's never met a pizza he couldn't corrupt, a wing he couldn't toss, or a rack of ribs he couldn't make a little less respectable.

Good food behaves better.
